Our Public Lands Teacher Workshop Series: Spring Mountains

Join Get Outdoors Nevada and the Spring Mountains to learn about the stories and ecology of the Mt. Charleston area. Participating educators will receive 2 CU’s. Activities and lessons in this workshop are connected to 3rd through 5th grade standards.
Participants will investigate the ecology of the Spring Mountains through engaging and immersive activities. Elevation, adaptation, inter-relationships in nature, and human impact are some of the topics participants will explore. Teachers will learn and practice both pre and post-field trip lessons and activities, as well as, activities to facilitate with students at the site.
Participants will begin their workshop at the Spring Mountain Visitor Gateway. Teachers will utilize the trail system at the Visitor Center during the workshop. Much of the day will be outside and on a trail. Walking shoes, water, sunscreen/ hat are strongly recommended.
Participants should bring lunch and water. Water refill station available. Max: 15 teachers
