Our Public Lands Teacher Workshop Series: Red Rock Canyon

Join Get Outdoors Nevada and Red Rock Canyon to learn about the biodiversity of the National Conservation Area. Participating educators will receive 2 CU’s.
Participants will investigate biodiversity at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Through immersive activities, teachers will explore the ecology at Red Rock Canyon NCA and investigate the threats to biodiversity, such as invasive species, fire, and human use. Teachers will learn and practice both pre and post-field trip lessons and activities, as well as, activities to facilitate with students at the site.
The workshop will take place at two different locations, one location for the classroom activities and the Pine Creek Trail for the onsite “field trip” activity. Registrants will receive details regarding where to meet for the workshop.
Note that part of the day will be outside and on a trail. Walking shoes, water, sunscreen/hat are strongly recommended.
Participants should bring lunch and water. Water refill station available.
Participants will need to show their I.D. at the fee booth for a fee waiver.
