Join this one day workshop to learn how to set up and conduct a field trip to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. We’ll cover logistics and standards based activities. This is a free course, and eligible teachers will receive 2 CU’s.

Activities and lessons in this workshop are connected to 6th through 12th grade standards.

Participants will investigate biodiversity at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Through immersive activities, teachers will explore the ecology at Red Rock Canyon NCA and investigate the threats to biodiversity such as invasive species, fire, and human use. Teachers will learn and practice both pre and post field trip lessons and activities, as well as, activities to facilitate with students at the site.

Participants will begin their workshop at the Visitor Center. Teachers will travel to the Pine Creek trail within the scenic loop drive. Much of the day will be outside and on a trail. Walking shoes, water, sunscreen/ hat are strongly recommended.
